How is specialty care provided?
Many managed dental care programs require specialty care authorizations by the Plan in order for the patient to receive specialty treatment by a Participating Specialist. The DentaQuest Plan allows this decision to be made between the Participating Dentist and the patient. A participating DentaQuest dentist may refer a patient to any Participating Specialist in our program --and without financial risk for that care.

All DentaQuest Participating General Dentists and Specialists agree to abide by our DHMO Member Fee Schedules. Member fees are paid directly, by the member, to the Participating General Dentist or Specialist, at the time treatment is rendered. There is no claim submission component under our DHMO Plan. Procedures not listed on the Member Fee Schedules are provided at a 20% reduction of the Participating General Dentist or Specialist's usual and customary fee.
